Solea Dental Laser
A CHANGE FOR THE HAPPIER
The miracle we’ve both been waiting for is here: Solea. Now available to you, Solea is a powerful dental laser that replaces the dental drillin the majority of procedures in our practice. In fact, nearly every patient skips anesthesia because they just don’t need it. Solea is our way of keeping you happy. Because more than anything, we love to see you smile.
WHAT IS SOLEA?
Solea is the first CO2 dental laser system cleared by the FDA for hard, soft and osseous tissue procedures. It was developed in Boston, Massachusetts by Convergent Dental, based on research conducted at the University of California School of Dentistry. Solea offers a unique wavelength guided by sophisticated computers to deliver virtually painless dental procedures for both teeth and gums from simple cavities to complex surgeries. The experience is so unique that you will find it hard to believe you were just at a dental appointment.
WHY SOLEA?
The majority of hard and soft tissue procedures in our office are done with virtually no anesthesia and soft tissue procedures are done with virtually no bleeding. Blood-free and anesthesia-free procedures represent a major leap forward in dentistry, as weare able to execute multi-quadrant dentistry, fillings on the fly and soft tissue procedures in a single appointment. What does that mean for you, our patients? You are now able to receive the care you need in a fraction of the time. When patients have anesthesia they typically leave the office with that numb feeling still prevalent. With Solea, you are able to go right out to lunch or back to work without that numb sensation following your appointment. Solea is truly changing what it means to go to the dentist.

Sterilization Compliance
Kids Teeth takes the upmost care to provide a clean environment and adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for proper disinfection and sterilization of equipment and instruments. Infection control is extremely important for the safety of our patients and team members. Our Sterilization Center is out in the open for all to see the multi-step sterilization process. Our entire team endures an intensive training program in infection control, and monitors its efficacy.
We have incorporated Sterilox Disinfection Technology in our practice. Sterilox is the only major brand proven to kill and remove biofilms from the inside surfaces of Dental Unit Water Lines (DUWLs), and keep DUWLs biologically free and clear over time.

Our office is committed to reduce chemicals in the workplace. We use digital x-rays which not only reduces the radiation exposure of our patients by two thirds, but also eliminates the chemicals needed for conventional x-rays. Our highly effective disinfectants are bio-safe for our bodies and the environment. For more information on how a disinfectant can be safe for humans and the environment, yet harmful to bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

Digital Radiographs (X-Rays)
The type and frequency of dental radiographs (x-rays) taken are based on American Dental Association Guidelines. We aim to minimize the amount of x-rays taken with the lowest amount of radiation possible. After examining your child and assessing cavity risk, we will discuss which x-rays are recommended. X-rays are needed for areas that cannot be seen clinically. X-rays can provide a lot of information from checking for cavities to assessing tooth development.
In order to minimize radiation, our office has taken the following steps:
All patients will wear a lead apron and thyroid collar for protection.
Our x-rays are digital. This means they require less radiation than a conventional dental x-ray.
We will recommend an x-ray when we are going to learn something from it.
